Healer main (shield preferred). she/her, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, age 31
I omnicraft ingame and outside of it am a digital artist that likes to draw cute chibi art! One of my main goals in XIV is to always better myself, I find a lot of enjoyment in learning and optimizing. My favourite content is week 1 new patch stuff before any sort of guides come out, I love to learn the new dungeons, trials, EXs, occasional first floor Savage etc. completely blind, it's incredibly fun to me! But once the initial fun is had I am more than happy to follow guides for EX+ content.
After I've learned a fight, I consistently get higher parses the more I do them, and often end up with purples. However, I don't play greedy and I will gladly tank my parse if it means saving a run. As a healer I like to do well on my parses, it's visible improvement which motivates me, but I always prioritize clearing and preventing deaths over anything else.
Experience

I've been raiding in XIV since Deltascape (2017)! It was my first time raiding, as well as playing an MMO. I was part of a casual but competitive-amongst-themselves type of group that raided 2x/week, and we also ran Extremes and sometimes would just hang out for fun and do dailies, deep dungeon, field operations, maps etc. About half of the group didn't take things as seriously as the other half so while we managed to sometimes get week 1 blind clear of a first fight, and sometimes actually did complete entire tiers, there were many tiers we didn't finish the 3rd or 4th fight and had issues with consistency and people showing up. Since we were all close friends, a majority of us stuck together anyways for many years up until Dawntrail came out, in which there was a mass exodus of people moving to other things after having lost interest in XIV, leaving only me and my partner as wanting to still play the game.
We attempted to join another group but it had a bunch of strange people that would parse super high like 98s but then told healers to "not dps so much" and got scared when not above 50% hp (???) so we left and just tried pugging for awhile. We managed to learn and clear M1s and M2s solely through PF but it was a bit of a nightmare and we stopped playing for a little while ;^; Hoping to get into a group for the second tier of Arcadion this time around. Also wouldn't mind going back and doing other Savage tiers for fun, or even attempting Ultimate with the right group! Overall just looking for a group that has fun together while also being patient, everyone putting in effort, and encouraging each other to persevere even if things become really challenging.
