Bio
Returning FFXIV player after roughly a 10 year hiatus and currently getting serious about endgame raiding. I am newer to the modern Savage/Ultimate raid scene, but I am not new to learning difficult content, optimizing my play or grinding until I understand a fight.
Right now I am mainly looking to raid as DPS while I get fully current on the tier. My strongest focus is SMN, with RPR also available. Once I am comfortable and consistent on DPS I would like to start learning tank in a raid setting as well most likely WAR.
I learn mechanics fast take feedback well and usually improve quickly once I can see what caused a mistake. I am the type of player who reviews logs looks at uptime/rotation issues adjusts, and comes back cleaner the next pull. I care about doing good damage but I care just as much about being consistent and not making the group solve the same mistake twice.
Outside of raids I enjoy harder solo/group content and Deep Dungeons. I have a Palace of the Dead solo clear on Summoner and have full clears/progression experience across the other Deep Dungeon content. I like content that rewards consistency and awareness.
I am looking for a group that is serious about progression without making the game feel like a second job. I am competitive with myself, reliable about improving and I would rather ask a question and fix something than pretend I know it.
Experience
My current raid experience is still developing because I came back to FFXIV after about a 10 year break and only recently started pushing endgame content seriously.
I have been working through current high end content. Improving my gear, rotation and fight knowledge while using FFLogs/xivanalysis style review to see where I can gain damage or clean up mistakes. I pay close attention to uptime, movement, burst windows, deaths and repeated mechanical errors. I am comfortable being told what I did wrong as long as the goal is to fix it and move forward.
My strongest current role is DPS. I have been focusing heavily on Summoner because I like being able to keep damage consistent while learning mechanics and I also play Reaper. I do play Warrior and enjoy it, but I would prefer to establish myself as a consistent DPS first before moving into a raid tank position.
For difficult nonraid content, I have a Palace of the Dead solo clear on SMN, and have cleared/progressed the other Deep Dungeons. Those runs taught me a lot about patience, resource management, recovery, and staying focused deep into a long attempt.
One of my better traits as a player is that I learn patterns quickly. Once I understand why a mechanic works I normally retain it well and can start focusing on optimization instead of just survival. I am also very persistent. If I am underperforming I will look at the numbers then figure out why and work on it rather than blaming the job or the group.
I am not going to pretend I have years of current Savage experience yet. I am looking for a group willing to take someone newer to modern raiding who has the mindset, mechanical awareness and willingness to improve quickly.
