I'm a neurodiverse person (ADHD+Autism) and there is absolutely nothing more that I enjoy then raiding in FF14, it's basically a fixation for me. However, dealing with players, particularly those in party-finder, has lead me to some pretty dark places. During week one of this tier I finally hit burn out and left my static out of an extreme need to reduce commitments and emotionally recharge.
As a result, I decided to force myself to take a two week break from FF14. I didn't burn out because I was bored with the game, I burnt out because of the demand I placed upon myself to keep up with others.
To be clear, the static that I left was great and I really liked them, they were patient with me and put no pressure on me to keep up. However, half the static managed to pug to M7S while I was still struggling with M5S and that made me feel like I was falling behind. That combined with actually trying to catch up and failing miserably in party-finder brought me to extreme lows.
I'm slowly starting to learn more about myself and the kinds of environments I thrive in. Going forward I plan to stop using party-finder completely and stick to raiding with one or more statics (I have savage ready alts!). I'd also like to find a static that can satisfy my desire to raid so I don't feel the need to get additional practice/prog in party-finder. I think I would prefer blind prog as well because it would put less demand on me to know mechanics before hand.
With that said, I won't be back until week four, so beggars can't be choosers, I'm down for whatever. Just make sure your group can be patient with me above all else.
In the meantime...I would be happy to jump on a call and do a vibe check with your group. I'd also be down to play a different game!
